HT Leads

Hi All,

Just trying to sort out a new set of leads for my cars, as I'm using a Pinto engine with a coil pack (Hook type Ford one) rather than a distributor so I can't get a standard set. Is the best option to get a set made up, or can I buy single leads that are the right length with the right end somewhere.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Scott

also interested in this. Where would one get their grubby mitts on HT leads that can connect a EDIS based coil to my c20xe plugs?

The standard Fiesta leads fit fine, pretty sure thats what i've bought the last twice for:

Coil pack - Pinto
Coil pack - Triumph Spitfire

What year and model of Fiesta?

I looked at some for a Fiesta and they had the long sparkplug end for a 16v engine.

Hopefully a standard set will work as it will be a lot cheaper that a custom set.

Out of Interest where did you mount the coil pack, I've mounted mine at the back of the engine on the scuttle.

We've mounted the coil on a bracket which is held on by the two top most engine to bell housing bolts.

I'm pretty sure there the same leads as a
M Reg 1.1 Fiesta Sapphire I had once if thats a bit more specific.
You know what the coil pack end looks like so you could always take a Pinto plug with you to try in the other end.

I wonder if a later Redtop coil pack could be fired by the EDIS unit if its the correct resistance or whatever the criteria for the EDIS to run properly is, its only 2 wires to connect up, Then you could use standard (late XE) leads.. but even standard ones are pretty expencive!.
