Is it with the car running but stationary for a while? Mine puts it on under those conditions. ECU thinks the speed sensor has failed.

The fault code is only displayed after you stop the engine (with the kill/stop switch) and not while running.

Resurecting an old thread but, I experianced the engine warning light coming on whilst driving yesterday and it stayed on for a few miles (2-3 miles) before going out again. Whilst it was on there seemed to be no noticable difference to how it was running. When I switched the car off I didn't notice any fault code.

Would you still get the fault code if the engine management light was off when you switch off?

What is this kill/stop switch you mention and how does it differ from just switching off?
