Laws on LED lights
I'm looking at changing my rear lights ( all ready :-)) for some LED ones. The lights are American and are all red LED's
http://www.led-r-us.com/lights.shtml the lights are the 5506r, Is it illegal to use these lights ie. Flashing red rear light as the indicator. I
cannot see a problem as some of the limos I see have flashing rear red lights.
Does anyone know.
Or is anyone interested in a group buy If I can organise one.
Cheers
John

i'd be very converned about flashing red lights for indicators. wouldn't they fail mot? if you've already passed sva that is.
i'm very sure they'd fail an sva.
imports may get them in under a different set of rules or something..
Ned.
beware, I've got yellow skin

imports have to change to a set of amber ones.
look at construction and use regs says amber.
any limos running red ones are illegal

Your Mot tester "should" fail you with red indicators if the car was registered after 1st Spetmeber 1965 - I'm sure it was!

The boys, I knew the answer would be on here. So the only way around this is to buy the red one and an amber one :-(
I can't find any with both red/amber for the right money.
Cheers lads for the reply's

I asked this question a while back and got same answer unfortunately.
Thought twin round red lights would look pretty sweet.
bummer really.

We have 95mm diameter LuxVision LED red- stop/tail lights and same size amber LEDs - all "E" marked ansd squeeky clean SVA wise, good
value (for LEDs) - on the web site.
Also, but not shown - a Hella 95 mm clear lens stop/tail (red AND amber indicator in the same light.
Bit on the pricey side tho' @ £112 pair inc. vat (sorry).
