Blue flashing lights.

Good morning Sir.

Good morning officer.

Did you know that your NSR brake light was out Sir ?

No officer, thank you very much for telling me that, I'll get it fixed straight away.

No problem Sir, I also want you to know that your number plates are illegal.

Yes officer, I suspected as much when I bought the car. I'll get them changed straight away.

( It's a MKIII Golf GTI, fake German plates with a 'D' on the left of the plate - the type of thing I would never ever buy, but absolutely legible from any distance and spaced all correctly.)

Thank you sir, would you mind taking a seat in the back of our car...

At this point, he checked all of my details out and it all came back clear and we parted company on good terms. Gave the old sphincter a good workout nevertheless.

Anyway !!

The slightly wicked bit in me thought the following might be quite provocative, not that I would ever do it.

Here's the legal version.

Here's the slightly naughty version.
I don't imagine this would endear me to the local officers of the law whom I have 100% respect for, they do a difficult job etc...

In the meantime, I've covered up the whole area with that daft 'D' logo on the left of the plates with some black tape.

Pig isn't especially offensive. As I know it, it comes from America and stands for Police In Ghetto's.

Pig is also a snorting type of animal that you may happen to love. Not offensive in any means.

James

You know me, I only do bargains.
I do like it, and know what people who have had them for years see in them.

I always though the term originates from fascist pig a reference to George Orwell's animal farm...

And the font is generally wrong too.

Honestly, I'll be going for the standard ones with standard letter spacing.

As from the beginning of this? month the requirement to have the post code on the bottom of the plate was rescinded.
Also when I had the 9-5 MOT'd last month I got a fail because the "Show" plate had a SAAB emblem on a black strip on the left of the plate, got a phone call from the MOT station when I got home saying they have just got an email from VOSA saying that the only fail on a number plate was now incorrect spacing Pass issued.
The examiner forecast confusion by Mr Plod because the information doesn't get passed on.

Take your pick from these if you want:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pigs

Spose its like anything there are good ones and bad ones...

I'd sooner me stopped by a person that done by a machine (speed trap) and I'd sooner by done by a real police man in a van than some third party that its contracted out to.

So far my license is clean however.

"Those goddamned pigs took my stash"
"those pigs arrested my brother last night for extortion!"

Well, I'm pretty much with you.
the bloke was absolutely sound and wasn't at all awkward.
I suspect the fact that it's a fairly old car, there was a brake light out and it had non standard plates all added up to "worth a look" in his eyes.
That's fair enough with me.

I can do without hassle in life, so standard plates it will be, no doubt about it, and as I said previously I would never have chosen these things in the first place.
