Blue and black wires - which one is live?

OK... I might try to get my Caterham heated screen wired up. Looks simple enough, just one wire each side: one black, one blue.

so... which is live and which is earth?

TIA

Simon

Black is almost always earth

ETA - if you wire it the wrong way, does in become a cooled screen?

It shouldn't make any difference, it's only a big resistor. By convention black would probably be ground in the Caterham installation though.

I once wired a cvh ecu loom into a fiesta, the ignition live was black wires, ground brown. So when dealing with ford, balck is not earth. (Almost caught me out!)
