Fuel Pump Relay
Anyone done anything smart with the fuel pump relay? At the moment my relay is driven from the ECU and remains enabled all the time the ignition is
on.... Fuel pressure Valve regulates the return fuel to the tank.. The problem is that if I get a ruptured line the pump will remian running and the
fuel will be everywhere... Am I trying to complicate things too much worrying about this?

How about a pressure switch on the fuel rail?
Mine is also controleld by the ECU, but when i got a fuel filter burst, the fuel pump stopped. Must be a cutoff switch on the fuel rail with a delay
on it??
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

The most dangerous thing is a pin hole in the fuel line nothing will protect you from that.
If you get a major fuel line fracture the engine will die instantly so no worries as you should have the fuel pump set up to shut off if no crank
signal or no oil pressure.
You should also have a "bump switch" fitted.

A tachymetric relay is what is normally used on production cars IIRC

PUG's use the TackyMetric not sure about other cars.
Ford EEC-IV controls it directly via a normal power relay.
For colision shut off , find a inertia cutoff from a sierra or granada.
As for shutting down with a leak... No production car does it as far as I know.
