Radiator Fan Thermal Switch
Doing some wiring today and got to the Radiator fan thermal switch, i have two wires one earth and one black and green but don't know which
terminals on the switch i have to connect to switch has no markings, does it matter on these thermal switches.
Help much appreciated.

Doesn't matter it's just a normally open switch and just closes when temp is reached.

it shouldn't matter as it is just a switch.
You could check that neither of the terminals are earthed to the body of the switch, but I don't think they normally are.

wrong - it does matter.
depending on the model of switch, it can have one or two tabs.
the one terminal is simple - the tab and the body are the contacts for the switch.
with 2 tabs the two tabs may be the contact or they can be two separate switches (operate at diffrerent temperatures) with the body as the second
contact of each.
also most switches are NO - normally olpen - the contact closes when temp is reaced or less common, can be NC - normally cllosed and the contact open
when temp is reached.
my advice is to find out what each contact does on t he switch; easy to do it you have a container of water that you can ehat to boiling and a
multimeter to measure resistance between the both tabs and tabs and stich body.
chances are they are both contacts for the switch, NO, but who can really say?

02GF74 i hope iv'e done this correct here are a couple of images of the switch can you tell from this if the wires matter which way round they
go.

if you struggle, then test it as per previous post - that way you will know the witch is working. (if you don't have multimer or
bulb/wire/battery, thermometer, stove and pan of water, then pop it in the post and I can get the spec, for you).
