Edis 8?

Where can I get a (cheap) Edis 8 please?

First mod to the V8 is coil pack ignition!

Buy 6 cheap or buy one .... err ... no so cheap.

Its my understanding that the edis 8 are a bit like hens teeth in the uk due to ford not doing any v8 engines therefore you're either paying this sort of price or importing from the states yourself.

(ebay.com has a few listed for not much)

2 trigger wheels and two EDIS 4 ?

or 1 trigger wheel, two sensors (90 deg apart?) and two EDIS 4?

Ive bought and sold 100's of units and have never seen an 8, ive only ever seen a couple of 6's.

You will not get one for a tenner

Dont find them on any car this side of the big lake so they cost .......

£50 is a good price normally more like £80

what are you hoping to run to drive it ?

my Range Rover coil pack is driven from my vems ( waisted spark ) so 4 coil drivers

I got one off ebay America including plug loom and crank sensor. 25 quid inc postage. But that was lucky.

I have one and may have another spare.
I would be willing to part company, but I´m not sure if I will need it or not, I am going Megasquirt too, but I still don´t know if going EDIS or Dizzy.
By any chance you may tell me advantages of each?

Easy - in the same way EFI has revoloutinised fueling electric Spark has revoloutinised the egniting of it. Analogy is dificult calcualtion with a slide rule vs dificult calculation with a calculator

A correct spark at the right time is esential for power and economy and emmisions.

PS the RV8 dizzies are renowned for being a pain in the bum
