Wiring up electric reverse help please..
Hi guys ive now got all the components fitted and working for my electric reverse and am about to wire up the electrics this is what i am thinking of
doing, is this safe and ok....
Ok big red power cable to starter itself is direct from the battery master switch (switched side) direct to the starter terminal...
Small soleniod wire is also from the battery master switch via a fuse to a flick switch (toggle type) then to a push and hold down to operate type
switch, then to the soleniod...
To operate you would turn battery master ON, as per normal use, but reverse motor would only work if toggle switch is on and button is pressed toggle
switch would be like a safety cut out type thing...
What size fuse would i require for the soleniod curcuit wire any idea's..
Would this wiring be ok is there a better way or any advice would be great help please, dont want it too complicated to operate as its a race car
anyway..
thanks Rob

So would you say a 15A fuse and if it blows the next size up 20A etc...

It will draw an initial higher current, my cat B immobilizer was ratted at 16a and It never had a problem switching the current.
15a should be fine but more to the point whats the swich that operates it rated at ?

The push button soleniod switch is a 30A starter switch so it should be ok i think ??
Think the aircraft toggle one is a 20A one..
