light switches

I seem to be missing some thing (common sense and thinking before i act). i'm using the viccki green loome.

Having fried the electrics (Lighting), i have replaced all the rear lights and fitted a rotary switch as i'm sure that the stalk switch was fried (side light Part only).

previously i had no side lights and only dipped and main beam. i thought i understood the wiring diagramme but now i have side lights but no dipped or main beam, but i can flash the lights.

I have put the side light cable from the stalks to the new switch. I have taken a +ve feed from the switch /stalk (i split the stalks switchd +ve) and i have taken the wire from the from the dipped beam relay to the switch.

what am i doing wrong?
