megasquirt for just spark?

Is it possible to use megasquirt for just spark control?

At the minute i am running carbs on a 1.6 BMW engine. Im basically trying to future proof it a little bit. My future plan is to drop the 1.8 BMW lump in and run it on bike throttle bodies. Hence why i might try and get a second hand megasquirt now so i have it in the future when it comes to run bodies.

What do people think?

buy a mega squirt and put it in the cupboard, then your future proofed...

Yes, you can use MS just for spark control if you want to.

Hi there.
I had an MS V3 specially built by ExtraEFI with four seperate coil outputs to suit coil on plug..
The ECU thinks it is running an injection system despite the car running on carbs.
It will provide a relatively easy route to throttle bodies if I ever get fed up with the sound of the carbs, which is unlikely!
Are you hoping to re-use the inlet manifold when eventually upgrading to TB's?
If you can then you can really keep the costs down.

Geoff.
