Side repeater visibility
I've just been having a flick through the SVA manual regarding lighting (fun fun fun) and it says the side repeaters need to be visible between
5deg and 60deg outboard of the car.
Would I be right in thinking the rear arches would obscure them from view? If so, how can do I make them legal for SVA?
Cheers
Pete

Pete,
You could always mount them higher (mine are in the side of the scuttle).

I think even if you mount them on the scuttle the arches would get in the way. The SVA manual states that they must be visible between 5deg and 60deg
outboard and between 15deg above horizontal and 5deg below. Looking at your photos the arch comes higher than the repeater and so would still block
the visible angle

I hope that there is some latitude - in practical terms, for someone to have their eyes 5° below my repeaters they'd have to have their arse on
a rollerskate!
Again, talking practically, you can stand (or sit) anywhere around one side of my car, from front to rear, and see at least one indicator on
that side - without exception.
We shall see before too long, hopefully!

Definately exempt for 'Sevenesque' cars.
Put mine in the same place as you guys but examiner didn't think it was sevenesque enough
I now have four repeaters

If that requirement is right, how does the new BMW Z4 get past it. They are sort of hidden by the badge and IIRC only visible from the front?? Type
approval??

They obviously put it through the SVA then modified it - just to be different!
