Barnett Clutch with Black springs very hard to use - what to do
Following on from this, it seems it's an issue with this specifc
car that makes it pretty hard to use the clutch, with previous threads on here from the last owner.
Very short area of slip. Also, it almost feels like a lock up clutch - more revs often see it stalling, though never sure if this is related to just
the clutch being sensitive and maybe your left foot moving a bit.
Reasonably, there's decent clutch travel, with the bike clutch actuator arm extended.
It's got a Barnett clutch with black springs apparently.
Going to get the clutch cover off and have a look (have done plenty of bike clutches on bikes, though never in a car.)
Anything I should look out for? Anything I should get ordered before I do it? (Recommended clutch plates, springs, etc?)
Don't mind having a few spares sitting around if need be.

How much movement do you have at top of pedal? I have set the cable pivot point on mine to give 4"

Welll.. Barnett clutches are both hated and loved... Depends entirely on your point of view/experiences and whether one is selling or buying :-)
Personally I view the things as overpriced bodge substitutes for carefully designed for the use oem bits..
For sure they always feature foolishly stiff springs.
IF mine... I'd revert to oem clutch springs as a start.

It's 11cm (so just over 4" ) movement at the top.
So I should be able to use standard Yamaha springs in the Barnett clutch?
