Will a digital dash from a GTE work?

I'm sure someone here has fitted a digital dash from an old Astra GTE to their car, how easy/hard is it to fit and get working properly? Is there a loom available to make it all work or is that hoping for too much? Anyone on here know how it's done?

its not as easy as plugging in a loom. what ecu are you running? and does the tacho read upto 13.000 rpm? i was having a similar problem with the honda s2000 clocks. they need a lot of work to work correctly. as does the indicator/lighting controls. they need feeding through relays to stop them burning the switches out

Unless you have a bike engine that only revs to 7k and a vauxhall gearbox with gearbox transducer, i'd say dont bother.....

Very simple dials from a simple era, no fancy multiplex or canbus to worry about.
Buy a pulse converter (picbits.co.uk) and you can convert any speed impulse and callibrate it to suit. You could even use a 2nd pulse converter to convert the rev signal to suit any rev range and tweek the dial face numbers.
The above site also sell colour conversion kits for the gte dashes to brighten up the dull 80s yellow glow. (used to sell them anyway)
The guy who runs that site is called Dom and he frequents Migweb.co.uk.
