megasuirt ouputs

Just finish off the megasuirt installation.

I have 3 spare outputs that are switched earths. The manual shows them being used to activate relays and a 1amp fuse fitted to protect them.

Is the relay realy needed if I am only using them to light a 12v LED that only draws a current of 200mA max.

use to run megajolt outputs striaght to the leds to act as a shift light without the relays.

Paul

You can drive an normal LED no problem. As long as you have a 300Ohm series resistor it won't draw more than about 40-50mA.

Probably worth having the resistor on the megasquirt side of things, which will make it a bit more immune to accidental short-circuits.
