Oil Pressure warning light
Hi Guys,
Interesting problem here, just though I would ask if anyone can solve it for me.
I've got a KOSO RX1N dash on my car that has a small oil warning light on it, but I decided it would be better to have a slightly larger one,
so I decided to fit a second light. So my problem, when I plug the second warning light in, the light on the KOSO stays on. They are both fed from
the same pressure switch.
Any idea of why this would happen? I believe that the oil pressure switch just provides an earth to make the light come put and breaks the earth when
the pressure is high enough.

sure the new light isnt grounded? So the new light needs a permanent connection to the ign live and the otherside to the oil pressure switch to
provide the gnd.

Better late than never, here is the circuit diagram i've drawn up. I think the Koso is reading some resistance from the other light, but
I've no idea how to stop it

Simplest solution would look to be putting the bulb inline between the koso and the switch.
What voltage does the koso warning light work on is it an led?

the light stays on because you have wired them in parallel, electric is stupid and doesn't know what you plan for it, it is also lazy and will
look for the easiest route to earth. that is not always in the direction you think it will go, it looks like the head unit is providing the earth
(backwards)
Put a diode on the wire from the unit before the connection to the second light, this will stop the back voltage. Why bother with two oil lights are
you that paranoid? just because there are two lights on your dash doesn't mean you have to them both working.
