Starter to Solenoid Wire Thickness...

Can anyone recommend a thickness please for the starter to solenoid wire on a Rover V8 engine?

I'd use 40mm2 539/0.3 which is good for about 300amps continuous and measures about 7.5mm diameter across the conductor.
