tin top tow bar wiring help needed

Hi, i've got a 55plate laguna estate and trying to follow fitting guide but it says there are 7 pins in rear cluster wiring but i've got 8 wires and only 6 pins (2 into 2 pins)
colours are so not obvious.
tried my circuit test light but guess must be for something more powerful as no light on it
googled around and can only find the 7 pin info

anyone know or got a similar setup?
i'm trying to scotchlock in temporarily before soldering the damn stuff on at weekend.

thanks

When I fit a tow bar I switch on the cicuits one at a time and identify the relavent wire. ie brake light or sidelight. The wiring kit usually gives the wire coloursf or the plug. So all you need is to do is match them up. A wire strap will be needed for the indicator wire either ns or os. If you are sruggling give me a u2u. I fitted one to my vectra recently so I may still have the info.

What are your 8 wires and what is your 6 pin socket? The standard 12n socket has 7 pins, have you got the rear hazard in there? There is probably no provision for it.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Yep don't wire it directly to the lighting circuit. You need a special 7 way relay because of the bulb sensors on the peugeot. It won't be able to understand the additional loads etc.

I have one on my van, which has bulb sensors. Bit of a pain but the relay works fine.

The 2 into 2 will be for splitting to brake lights either side.

Tow Bar

Are you using a relay?
You find most later models work on a low voltage signal wires these you need to feed through a relay you can not feed trailer lights directly off the vehicle wires on a lot of modern vehicles.

kak, looks like there are so many options available.
Some say the relay bit is recommended, others say necessary.
but there are different variants of wiring kits too
rang the place but they not rung me back yet.
FFS why are car electrics so damn confusing these days?
low voltage this and that, it didn't take this long to rewire the entire old series landy i had.
