From memory silver top are 8mm and black top are 9mm The link doesnt say what they are but a quick phone call would sort that out.

I would give burtons a call to confirm the fitment.
I would say yes but a five minute call will confirm
they are correct.
If my memory serves me right there are two different
thread sizes.A fine pitch 8mm and a fine 9mm.

I had reverse problem with a silver top, got some info here which might help on how to recognise ones not to get.

Well looking at the Burton catalogue it would seem that the ARPMS04A are the bolts to go for, states they are the ones for a Black Top. HTH Ray

The ARP website lists them wrongly. They list 6003 for 1.6 zetec which are the bolts for all silvertops including the 2.0L They list 6005 for 2.0L zetec but these are the bolts for all blacktops and the ST170.
And yes 8mm for silvertops and 9mm for blacktops.

Chippy - ARPMS04 are listed as ARP MAINS STUD KIT: ZETEC E 16v -5/98 this would be the old silver-top although in the description it does say something about blacktop

I rang Burton and said the i have a blacktop zetec i want some con-rod bolts and were item number ARPBE05 correct they said yes ,

But some pepole disagree!!!! Has anyone bought/installed these in a blacktop with no issues ??

Cant believe the confusion on these bolts seems you get a different answer on every thread i have read

i just replied to your u2u, but I have seen several blacktops all taking 8mm bolts, none 9mm
I thought 9mm was just the st170 engine. (Knowing ford it is probably not that straight forward though.)
