battery charger/ conditioner
Hi guys and girls,
I have an old battery charger which also works as a jump starter and it getting to the stage of not always working. Its very old and has served well
over the years.
What can anyone recommend? I want to be able to charge and or keep the battery charged. Low cost of course!!
thanks
Andy

I've got a CTEK 2500 which is excellent but not exactly locost. They do cheaper ones though, but they only charge and condition, they
don't start.
PPC mag did a group review in the December issue - worth a look if you're considering buying.

For general charging and float conditioning charging keep a look out for special offers from Lidl or Aldi these are very good quality although they
lack the restore tickling found on the most expensive modelss.
These days for boost starting most peeps use Booster Packs --- however the quality of these varies enormously.

The CTEK 3600 is brilliant for this kind of thing. I've got 3 of them now!

Just realised mine is a 25000 (extra 0) not 2500 as I said... sorry!
eBay Item
It can charge at 25A, so it doesn't take long to get enough charge into a battery for a start. 10 minutes on a flat battery and it'll
have enough juice in it to turn it over, although it may take a bit longer on a winter morning!
I mainly bought it for when I'm doing remap work as often fans and things kick in and cause voltage drops which is bad news when flashing an
ECU. BMW are the worst for this - the fans start up as soon as the ECU goes into programming mode. It has a 'supply' mode that keeps
everything at constant voltage whilst I'm doing my thing.
Superb bit of kit if you can justify the cost.
