wiring loom costs
whats a general guide for the cost of a wiring loom?
getting to that stage, but trying to work out if i can really afford it just now...
would need ignition system, lights, dash, main battery cables etc all done.
still need to decide exaclty what i'll do with some parts, though. horn buttons, indicators etc. still got 1 gauge to decide on.
fuel gauge - low level warning lamp, 5 bar LED dispaly, or a 52mm gauge? and then the sender...
immobiliser,need to get that in there too.
headlight enclosures...
any guesses at rough prices? i know the guy i'm going to use, but before i bother him asking, just want to get a figure in my mind first

id do it myself with 7 core trailer flex mate. probably not as tidy as a pre made loom but cheap and reasonably straight forward to do. i was worried
about doing it also but did it all myself,step by step and it all woks as it should. if you need any info on certain bits,feel free to ask. the only
thing i struggled slightly with was the savage hazzard switdch wiring,but i found a thread on here somewhere with pinouts and it was easy!

i hope its a pyramid scheme  i'm a sucker for a pyramid scheme!
daniel, i have considered doing it myself, i did start a few years ago, making up bundles of cables and stuff, but getting very confused, and its
probably going to take me a very long time to get it done.
this is who i'm thinking of. known him for years from knockhill, and would be much happier knowing someone with loads of experience has done it
right

I did most of mine one wire at a time. Don't recommend it. I do recommend the trailer wires though. Not exactly light, but life is short and the
other way takes a hundred years. Always wonder whether I should have bought one premade.

i'm 9 years into this build already, i don't have another 100 years to waste 
given the indications on prices i've been sent for pre made looms from various places (again, thank you everyone!), its definitely the way
forward, and not as expensive as i thought it would have been!

I know how frustrating this can get, but sitting there with a piece of plywood laying out wires, and then forgetting two or three at the end had no
appeal whatsoever. Sometimes you need to be pushed along. I know a few people on here that got me moving along when I was waffling about things, that
I couldn't have done without.

i'd spent too long trying to do everything myself, when in a lot of cases i should be getting some stuff done by other people to help things
move along. for the price guides i've been given, i don't think i could do it cheaper myself, never mind as quick

I think it's only smart to not to beat yourself up because you can do it yourself. And obviously you could do it if you wanted. Life is too
short. I have never regretted getting outside help. I wish I'd had more of it!
When my parents died many years ago, there were still the one inch bits of string, and the non-functional ball point pens, in the kitchen drawer, that
we were never allowed to throw away. That's a hard mindset to get out of, but part of the experience, or so I tell myself.
