Emerald or omex
Hi all new to the forum been reading on and off for a while but first post so here goes.
I know not totally locost but have been wanting to get an ecu for my 2.0l zetec. At the minute the two choices are emerald or omex.
What are people thought to these two? What good or bad that they have noticed.

I've got a emerald on a zetec, I would say for a basic zetec no great difference, good idea is to also look at where locally you can get each
one mapped

Speak to whoever will be mapping it and make sure they support the ECU you choose
Not sure how many tuners support Emerald and most users make the trip to see Dave Walker as its his system
Omex and Mbe along with Dta seem well supported
I wouldn't recommend Weber Alpha as its a Dealer only system when it comes to mapping etc
Although i hear it is a reliable system

Personally I'd use an EC1 from Tour De Force http://www.tour-de-force.co.uk/
It used a lot in motorsport as well as being OE on some low volume cars. They recently been working with BAC on production of the new Mono single
seater.

Can't help about the Omex but I found the Emerald very easy to install , easy to set up and Dave Walker very helpful . Which ever one you go for
make sure it's user friendly and ask your rolling road operater for advice as already suggested . If you haven't seen it have a look at
Dave Walkers book on engine management from Haynes IIRC for some very helpful advice
