Fuel Pump Electrics
I've got no power to my fuel pump Car cut out on me last week and won't restart.
Tried a bypass to the fuel pump and everything is fine. The problem is obviously further down the line.
I'm sure if it's fused (as I can't find one) so it's either going to be a relay or another problem.
The engine is a 4AGE 20v with an OMEX 500 ECU. Anyone know if the crank sensor is used to control the electrical circuit to the fuel pump?
Any other ideas as to what I should be checking?

If you didnt build the car yourself, I think you should begin by tracing the fuel pump wiring and seeing where it leads, checking for any obvious
chafing etc, take covers off and see if fuses/relays have been placed in stupid locations.
a copy of the omex installation manual might help look here
and go checking for (+/-) to the fuel pump with a multi meter.
Some people can never handle the truth and always try to shoot the messenger instead of taking an honest look in the mirror (its always easier to
blame another than to face reality), but secretly they wish they could grow a pair and be the messenger !!!

Do you have a spark at the plugs?? if so the C.P.S is likely to be working. Have you tried starting it with a direct feed to the pump? or a squirt of
brake cleaner down the inlet? If it fires up then the problem is fuel supply, if not it's something affecting the ignition
Have a look for an inertia switch before going any further!try resetting it if it has one

There is most probably a fuel pump relay which is Controlled by the Omex.
When it gets a signal from the Crank sensor above a certain RPM the Omex will pull the relay in and apply power to the Pump.
On my Megasquirt it is set at 300RPM.
Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016

I'll double check the spark but as I've checked the fuel pump and its got no power I'm sure that is the problem.
I can't find a relay so assume its tucked away somewhere out of sight. As I didn't build the car I'm having to find all these
things out for myself.
I'll have to start tracing the wires back from the pump which is easier said than done. They are all nicely bound and secured over the prop
shaft so not that accessible.
If only I had more time spare to do it
