Headlight wiring help

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to wire up my lighting in my striker but getting nowhere.
First question is do i NEED a relay for the headlights?

And the next is the wiring question, the following is what i have but i'm getting confused of which wires should go where.
It's a Raw loom with sierra switchgear.

DIP SWITCH
Supply - Blue
Dip Beam - Blue/Red
Main Beam - Blue/White

LIGHTING SWITCH
Supply - Brown
To Side Lights - Purple/White
To Dip Switch - Blue

And this is the sierra switch diagram:

So i'm getting confused of how the dip switch and the lighting switch wires should connect in with the sierra switches.

If anyone can put this simply for me it would save me a massive headache!

Many thanks,
Andy

If used a relay on the dipped/main but let the switches handle side lights. No problems thus far... A relay for sides gives the switchgear an easy time but is another possible point of failure....

If using sierra switches post 87 then they are designed for separate dip and main beam relays and work by switching the earth side of the relay.

So: Dip relay.
85 to an ignition live.
86 to column 56B.
30 fused to battery live.
87 to headlights dip beams contact.

Main wired the same but 86 to 56A and 87 to the main beams contact.

Don't forget the 56-56 link wire between the left and right column switches or the good earth wires off the column switches.
