R1 5jj speedo not working.

Hi, I have built a mazda mx5 with a honda blackbird in it, and im atempting to use r1 5jj clocks, i have got most things working accept the speedo, i have wired the speedo up per the blackbird diagram.

From what I can work out both bikes use the same three wire hall effect speed sensors, so in my mind it should read something, but what who knows as im not sure how many teeth either of the bikes have on the reluctor rings, but i was not to worried about that as i have got to use a speedo healer any way, and was hoping i could re calibrate it to suit.

Does any body know if this should work or am i totally wrong on this one?

I also have a question about the oil light on the r1 clocks, am i right in saying that on the r1 it is a low oil level sensor not a low pressure sensor? I have wired the oil pressure switch on the blackbird into this light. What im finding is the oil light does some stange things. how does the oil level sensor on the r1 work? Does it earth the light out when the level is low or does it work on the resistance changing in the oil level sensor to put the light out?

Again does any one have any ideas or thoughts on what im trying to do here?

I may be new the this forum and doing something differant to most of you but im sure i can be a help to others with my knowlage of being in the motor trade as a mechanic for the last 15yrs and have been autograss racing for 18yrs so i have seen a few things a tryed a few aswell.

Thanks Alan
