need some info on wiring in my car,

should the starter motor connect direct to the battery?

it allways has been since i got the car but was unsure if this is normal or if it needs to be within the cut off circuit

thanks

depends what type of starter you have.....
inertia (not very common these days but are on Crossflow engines)
Pre -engage starters....you can tell these as the solenoid are on top of the starter motor, in which case the starter wire (the thick one) goes direct to the battery +ve/
