Peugeot - Weird Electrical Fault

Hmmm bit of a strange one

Peugeot 106

With the Ignition off, turn on the lights, goes to dip beam. turn off and do it again goes to side
lights and then dip...
Turn the Ignition on, goes to dip and wont turn off until the
ignition is turned off.
If you put the fog light switch on, every thing operates as it should.

Thinking: Earth fault, Switch or loom issue ?

Any ideas lads ?

Are all 4 corners doing the same thing?

What happens if brake lights are introduced?

From experience, that era of pugs are NOTORIOUS for fancy light displays due to dodgy earths. You can usually spot them when they indicate and half the car flickers on and off in various sequences..

I'd clean up all the earths before swapping parts (cheapest fix first!)

Sounds like a Canbus fault if your car is can bus. A lot of Canbus niggles clear if you disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes.

UPDATE

And the answer was........................................

Detached Earth wire behind the dashboard that was 'Floating' around.
This is on a Peugeot that is used as a road and Hillclimb car and the theory is that this happened when the cage was fitted.

Thanks for the replies
