Zetec engine loom confusion
I have been abit confused with my wiring loom for my blacktop zetec 1800cc engine running bike carbs. the loom and ecu i have i believe is a blacktop
1800 one, used by all the banger boys.
i have downloaded all the wiring diagrams for it and have found the crankshaft sensor plug, the coil pack plug, and have found the 2 wires for the
camshaft sensor... but it has the wrong plug one the end of the two wires....
has anyone else had this problem?
do i have the right diagrams?
do i have the right loom?
do i need to change the sensor?
do i need to change the plug?
When running carbs on a zetec you only need three plugs to make it run... coil pack, crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor. (this is all the banger
boys use)
anyone that can help me even the tiniest bit will forever be known as a hero.

my mate is a banger boy and gave me the loom but his loom on his engine is 100 miles away and will be for a couple of weeks as he has no drivers
licence so relies on his friends with hiabs to take his cars places. and he cant remember what goes where as he has cut all the plugs off his and just
left the three you need to run it.

That plug looks like the one that attaches to the top of the thermostat housing, I run a silvertop with bike carbe and a megajolt the Cam sensor isnt
needed
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

That plug is in deed an early silver top temp sensor plug. It could be coolant or inlet air temp. The black top sensor has a different plug as does
the later silver top. The cam phase sensor its only needed for sequential fuel injection.

So would my engine run with just a coil pack and crank sensor?
