B**!!# Electrics!!!

I hate electrics. Having successfully managed to get the horn working, and re-fitted dashboard plus steering column cowl, found that the (i) ignition warning light and (ii) oil press warning light no longer work.

BTW - Using a PWS loom, coupled up to a Sierra steering column. Before the horn prob, everything else was working OK.
So what can I possbly have done to cause just these 2 warning lights to non-operate? Am guessing it'll be a faulty earth, or .......???

Anyone have useful ideas? Re-test just over week away, so panicking begins.

Start by checking your fuses, you should have a live feed to both of the warning lights, the oil pressure light is earthed via the oil pressure sensor and the ignition warning is earthed via the alternator until the engine is started. I wouldn't have thought that either of them is a requirement for IVA

Thanks, Rusty Nuts. As ever, there's always someone here on LCB who comes up with something useful. Will haul out my trusty multi-meter and check some connections.

Still doesn't explain why there's been this change, following the horn re-wiring. Reckon that had something to do with it. Propose putting connections back, to s/wheel horn button operation, then diverting wiring to separate independent button - if I can find one!

When I started my build I didn't even know that the chassis was the negative etc etc. The only way I have been able to get it done is by taking one circuit at a time and sorting that and then moving on to the next.

When I have a problem I start with the circuit diagram and check every connection for that one circuit. Mostly checking for continuity along the way.
