Mini Wipers?
Hi Guys,
I've got this wiper mech that came with the car, i'm thinking about fitting a windscreen and wanted to check a couple of things.
1. am i right in thinking this is a mini wiper?
2. This part seems to spin around the bar quite easily when turned by hand, i assume this isn't normal?
3. Any idea what the 5 contacts do on the connector? I have tried various combos of live and negative but have only found that the top spade and
bottom left give a constant wipe
4. Any tips for how to mount the motor to the bulkhead? i assume some kind of metal strap...
Thanks in advance,
Andy

Have a look at the SVC website , I think it's covered in their technical section, everything you need is there. SVC also sell the multi plugs
IIRC

Hi Pekwah...
Yes, it is a mini wiper
It should say 14W somewhere on it, meaning it has the self-park feature that you'll need
Yes, it's normal for the gearboxes to spin on the shaft
Wiring as you look at the pins...
Top centre earth (usually Brown)
Upper left slow speed (red)
Lower left high speed (green)
Upper right parking brake (brown/white)
Lower right parking supply (black/purple)
You'll need a semicircular strap to mount it, with a rubber piece between that & the wiper body. Also a rubber pad between the wiper body
& the bulkhead.
You may also want to change the blade parking position from driver's side to pass side or vice versa.
Also, you'll probably have to shorten the arms, blades, & the distance between the spindle centres.

There still sould be a park.
One of the connetors is latched to power and gets unlatched when the arm moves to park position.
Thid means the motor is power not only by power from the switch but the latched contact.
Turn offf the dash switch, the motor continues to receive power until the latch unlatces.
