Types of Locost
Ok I previously tried to get help in the chassis section but all I managed top start was a debate about grammer and GTS.
So what I wanted to know is other then GTS and Leugo what other companies do kits to build a locost?
What are the main differences? and does anyone do a +4 chassis pre built? What are the pros and cons of the +4?
I weld like a bird walks, gets the job done but it doesn't look comfortable! so I want an option to buy a built chassis of some description!
If at first you don't succeed force it harder!

MK make great chassis
MK Sportscars
if you wanna buy one.
Other people also make good chassis too

A few web addresses I collected during my inital look around. Finally decided to build rather than buy my chassis as I had loads of time.

March,
I'd recommend you get down to the Exeter show- there you should be able to see all the main manufacturers and their products in person.
The main one's I'd think you'd want to look at are:
MK, GTS and Luego
I've not heard of Daniels Engineering as mentioned by PioneerX.
All three of the above make really nice kits that I'd be pleased to own.
I don't know of anyone who does a +4". Except maybe Robin Hood. But I wouldn't recommend them for reasons you can read about on here
and other sites. Steer clear of the Tiger Avon aswell as everyone on here who has one slates it as far as I can tell.

Ok thanx guys
I think I've settled on GTS or MK, MK looks the more proffesional site and GTS's images arn't very clear, but both will accept
sierra donar cars which is one less MKII escy I have to find!
What if any are the differences between these cars then?

I think it's really down to personal preference - they've both got good reputations. MK's been around longer, and is a slightly
bigger organisation (but still very small!). Mind you, Luego, ST and several others have good reputations as well!
I'm with James - go and see the cars at Exeter - it's not too far for you to go... you can sit in the cars, decide whether you like the
fit and finish, and whether you fit in them...

I would also give MNR serious consideration - a really good piece of kit a bit of a 'step up' in quality particularly in the bodywork
dept. IMHO of course

MNR cant be beaten on quality and handling

Erm...................I don't want to wee on anyones bonfire but.................
These chassis' aren't Locosts!
A Locost is a home built special in the tradition of great British special building from Austin Seven specials onwards.
The above mentioned are kit cars very similar to a Locost.
Locost replicas if you like.......

March . i would get yourself to a kit car show you will learn so much about these cars i didnt go to a show till half way through my build it really
opens your eyes to whats avilable.

Ooops. I've done it again. I happen to have stumbled upon Locostbuilders.co.uk. What I was REALLY looking for was MKbuilders.co.uk. Must be a
common problem though, cos theres now sections on here for MK's, GTS etc etc. Mind you, who supports the website............... welders

Yes that's definitely a chassis , lacking a few brackets and the bar across the footwell looks awkward.

hmm , thanks - i was really wanting to know if its a luego or something- since the chaps at MNR didnt have a clue . Besides , now ive got it , ill
