cutting a vauxhall XE head

As in the title, why do folks cut the back of the head except for gaining some space for the bulkhead or heater blower unit?

If left alone, is there a whole in the camshaft to block with a bearing? Any ideas what the size of the bearing is?

thanks for any help
Andy

hi,

a lot of people cut the heater tube off and block it because SBD say its acceptable which is fine for road and track if your engine is in mild tune. Believe me though when i say if your engine is 'tuned' then leave it be and return it back into the feed for the header tank. I have had major issues with blocking it off and once freed up ran perfectly at 90 deg!

Not sure if you mean the ball bearing in the end of the cam but if you do then no you dont need to do anything with it.

Rgds,

Rob.
