Type "A" relays
After spending a puzzling few minutes.
I've learned something new.
Never knew there was two different layouts of relays.
I give you type "A" relays
type A relay
Type A on left, Type B on right.

Does anyone know why you would need the other configuration?

common problem this......it is the cause of many faults on diy repaired cars...
you will find that BMW's and Vauxhalls often use the type A relay and other cars (fords) the type B relays.....the type B relays are considered
to be the standard relay.
