daymaker led headlights, anyone used them?
i have something of an obsession with led lights at the moment after upgrading most of the bulbs on my daily. i went to the nec last week and saw the
led headlight upgrades on a couple of landrovers and thought it was a cool twist in a classic design.
i use 5.75" headlights though so obviously the landy items are no good but have come across these daymaker headlights that Harley Davidson use.
the simple question is has anyone used them or have any opinion on them?

I had a look at these as replacements for the 5 3/4units I have on the Fury as the ones fitted are useless at night and I can't see a thing
really.
I would be interested too to hear if anyone has fitted these and if they made a difference. I know Russbost / Furore Cars sold Dolls eye LED units and
Adithorpe fitted some but the ones you have linked to are a fraction of the cost.
These ones

The genuine harley daymaker ones are £400ish each, those are copies but could well be fine.
The ones from furore are the same sort of thing but with a servicable warranty, the chinese sellers tend to appear and disappear so any warranty may
be worthless.
I had jw speaker 8630s on my striker, they looked great but were not much better than a good halogen as the dip and main beams could not operate
simultaneously and there was a dead spot in the middle of the main beam (which would be covered by the dip image), which made anything over 50 on
unknown roads unnerving. They did have a 5 year warranty, but they weren't interested in the issue as nothing had physically failed - if there
was adjustment to the lamp elements so the light could be converged they would have been fine.
They have since changed the design, but the prices have gone sky high, your're looking at £1200 for a pair now!
I changed to the furore ones which give a far better dip light intensity, the only issue is the main beam is focused ahead a little tightly and
struggles to give enough light spread through the twisties.
The only downsides i have noticed with the led lights are the light bounces back more in fog/mist, and certain types of roadsign reflect main beam
back at you with blinding intensity.

OP be careful although they are listed as a UK seller, the notes at the bottom say that the items are dispatched from HK
I'm interested in this topic too, I have a Lotus Elan M100 (the 1990's version) with useless 5.75 headlights
There are UK sellers of these, but I suspect it will be a minefield with lots from different manufacturers all looking similar
This is the cheapest that I've found - also from HK
