Twin vacuum distibutor ?

I've got a spare bosch electronic distributor for my pinto engine, the only problem is that its got a twin vacuum instead of the normal single vac used on the pinto.

Any clues ?

The only info i have is that it may have once been on a pinto in a transit,BUT the dizzy came from a 2.1 pinto running 45's.

I just want to understand the twin vac bit,ie why it needs two vacuum pipes.

Its a vacuum retard -- emision control dongle over retards the ignition to allow a higher throttle opening at idle -- a kludge to reduce emmisions at idle.
