Lights not working what to check?
Hi all,
Looking for a few pointers on what to check to get the front and rear offside running lights working and the fog light.
The Fury was built from a Reliant Scimitar, at least that is what the old chassis plate is from.
The wiring loom appears to be Ford (maybe Escort?)
It has the bullet type fuses, they all look ok but the lights don't work. It seems odd that its one side of the car which is not working, making
me think fuse.
Is there some sort of procedure of what to check first to get to the bottom of this issue.
I have an MOT tomorrow and need to look tonight.
Many thanks

i think old escort lights were fused in that way, the original fuses were really rubbish and sffer from corrosion so it probs is the fuse box area

Use a multimeter to check for connections across the fuse box.

first check the earths,
then methodically check from the switch, and work back or forward from there.
I usually use a low wattage bulb instead of a meter
if its standard wiring colours, (which scimitar would have used as well as ford, triumph, rover etc)
then you are just looking at the red wires & black earth wires.
edit: I presume you have checked the bulbs themselves too?

Many thanks to all for the ideas.
It turned out that the fuses which I had bought were crap. I had to test them to find one which worked. After I got a working one, I shoved it in the
fuse holder which I thought controlled the non working lights and BINGO!
Thanks again for the suggestions.
Anyone have a good trusted source for the continental fuses ?
