Round Quad Master

I have just recieved this message from Nick at HNsupplies (UK QuadMaster distributor).

"Hi Darren,
Have attached a picture of another Speedo that may be better for you car nuts. It has the functions speed (mp/h), trip ,odometer, fuel gauge as well as the led's. If I can generate enough interest (20 units) then it should be around £90 + p&p.

Regards
Nick"

Looks well smart. Just need a small round rev counter and you get a locost digidash option.

What compulsory warning lights are missing? (I dont have an SVA manual handy)

Cheers,

Handbrake

And only about half an hour from where i live too

Out of curiosity, the fuel guage goes up to 125 - is that tablespoons because it sure as hell aint liters if its designed for a quad!

size and weight would be handy to know, brake tst can be wired into a single rocker switch on the dash, so thats not a problem..

Matching diameter and colour scheme tacho would be nice, i guess you could match it to an etb or greengauges unit.

Any idea whether you could get the bezel in different colours ie black.

Could be interested at that price myself..

Ned.

oh and whether it can be calibrated to mph as the one in the pic is in km/h

Here are my q's to Nick and his replies.

Thanks Nick,

I have posted this to the locostbuilders forum. It looks much better to the square one.

What are the bar graphs for. I assume RHS for fuel gauge. What is LHS one for?
LHS gives you the amount of fuel left in litres.

Is this different to the one on the website? If so what are the dimensions etc.
Yes it is different to the one on the website it is produce by a different manufacturer. The size of the Speedo is 64mm dia for the display and 75mm dia surround

I have seen the square one on ebay at a much reduced price - any connection to you?
This Guy has nothing to do with Quad Master and will not be able to sell many at that price on Ebay, as you know he sells them for a lot more on his website.

What other gauges can you get?
If you tell me what you are after and at what cost I will have a look around for you.

Sorry its all one colour! reply looked better on outlook (in colour). The display is available in MPH. Im still confused about the fuel level - i think RHS is level and LHS is litres. This unit is not a quad specific item. Nick has a locostbuilders login so ill ask him to read this and comment.

The main problem i see with it is that it doesnt <look> like it will read more than 99.9mph on the speedo... or is the 1 smaller than the other digits when it gets to 100+?

Hi all.
I too have have rang Nick about the round blue gauges and found him to be very helpfull.

I like the the gauges posted above better.

If there are enough people wanting one, i think i'll have one.

Seems like the quad world may be a good soutce of clocks

Are there any other clocks out there that look similar in design so that I could get an oil pressure, water temp, oil temp gauge to suit.

Hi my name is Nick and I own/run Quad Master UK.

I will try to answer you questions and the ones I can't will find out for you all.

I am waiting for tech info on calibration/senders will post asap.

There is a Tacho available as well and I am having a sample one shipped over Tuesday next week, info to follow.

Not sure about other colours but will find out.

Max speed could be an issue so will check max reading (over 100 mph hopefully or its not a lot of cop)

Have found a manufacturer who produce digital oil temp, water temp, fuel pressure and volt meter. They are all individual guages in the round chrome finish and are 52mm dia. Have emailed them for more tech info.

Thanks for the interest and as soon as I have any more on the above I will pass ot on.

I think I already know the answer. You probably don't sell to the USA?

Do they have the blue backlight?

I would be interested in the full complement of guages. And for possibly more than just one car, depending on cost.

I have just got some prices for the smaller 52mm auxcillary gauges and they are going to retail between £50 and £70 depending on which one you want. Not realy low cost but they are digital which must be why they are more expensive.

Waiting for the technical stuff to come in the post.

I am looking at analogue type gauges at the moment as well so any comments on the price of the digital ones and if analogue would be OK, are more than welcome.

What i am looking for is an attractive looking programable speedo, oil pressure gauge, oil temp gauge, water temp gauge, fuel gauge, and tacho (6 cylinder), at a reasonable price. (Yorkshiremen are known to lean towards the frugal side of live).
