Fuel pump earthing

Morning all.

I've just been planning the mounting of my fuel pump, and I have a question. I'm not sure if this is the right place to put it, but what the heck!

Basically, I'm using a Facet Solid state pump that has two wires coming from it (red and black, I guess +ve and ground to power it). However, as I don't have the instructions, I was hoping that someone could tell me if the fuel pump frame should also be connected to the chassis electrically (i.e. to ground)?

I've got some rubber mounts for the pump you see, and as far as I can tell, these will isolate the pump body, unless it is grounded internally. (if that makes sense)

Has someone got a copy of the instructions that I could buy a copy, or perhaps they are available online?

Secondly, do the threaded unions tend to seal well? Or can I use a bit of PTFE tape to get a good seal on the the threads?

Cheers folks

Andy

Dammit! Too many decisions....

You need to mount the pump on the rubber mounts, take the black wire from the pump to earth, but also take a wire from the pump base mount and loop it to the chasis where the pump rubber mount is bolted (in other words, around the rub ber mount)
On the fuel connections, DO NOT use ptfe, this can cause pieces of it to be sucked, pumped into the fuel system.
Use a pipe sealant or even just a smear of grease. it's an npt thread which is tapered so it will seal if tight enough
