pinto ignition wiring

Hi

To save compications with the wiring for the ignition I brought an aldo dizzy with ignitor as I thought this would lose the need for the black box all associated wiring. Am I wrong as I cant seem to work out how to wire it up. Just incase I am wrong I went to a scrappy and got a black box, vacuum dizzy and coil with associated wiring.

Thanks

Rob

Which pinto are you using?
What scrappie bits did you get?

What wires come out of the Aldon dizzy?

Does this help

Rob, I've got the same set up as you. I can't remember exactly how it's wired, but I just followed the directions that Aldon sent. I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know.

Regards, Ian

Mine has the ignitor and it has 1 red and 1 black wire from the dizzy which go to coil (red wire +ve, black wire -ve).

you just need your supply to the coil +ve and that should be you sorted.

Tacho connects to coil -ve

You need to have the correct coil to go with the ignitor - ask aldon.

It sounds like you are all getting good results with teh Aldon set up. Im wanting trouble free ignition that also allows upgrade to 2.1 later and this sounds like a good solution. Ive considered megajolt but put it on the back burner for now. Can i ask a couple of questions about the Aldon ignitor set up?

1. Did you buy new ready modded dizzy or just the internals?
2. How much has it caso you?
3. Where is the best place to buy it from?
4. Have you used std ignitor or ignitor 2?
5. Why did you use Aldon? Why not lumenition etc?
6. I assume you have also had to fit flame thrower coil - which one or is there a chaeper alternative.

And the final question - My 2.0 pinto ignition set up is currently from std injection, therefore no good in std form. Dizzy is the hall effect one with 3 connection rectangular plug. Can this dizzy be converted to aldon ignitor?

Many thanks in advance,
Darren.

Thanks guys

I have a tuned 2 ltr pinto i will be using and also have a coil which i belive is a suitable type to be used with the aldon. It has 2 wires as you have said which I have connected upto the coil. From my tiger loom I have 3 wires which I need to sus, it could be one goes to earth, and the other two go to the coil. I will look tonight.

Thanks

Rob

p.s what is the best type of connector to use when connecting the 3 of the 4 wires from the ignition barrel to the 3 ignition wires from the loom to prevent fire etc?
