Sierra alternator & Luego loom
Hi ive search but cannot find anything to help explain how to wire up my alternator from the luego loom.
I have a standard sierra pinto alternator which i have unplugged which has two red cables and one thinner blue wire (all are un labelled, my luego
loom has one wire for the alterntor so what do i do ?
I have found some previous posts and one explains how to install daihatsu charade alternator which has three connections coming from it one is the
main + one is ignition + and one is battery charge warning light.
Im presuming that the one wire from my loom is switched ignition live and that im gonna have to get the main + spliced from the main brown cable in
the loom and from there i dont know what to do with the thin blue or even which of the two red cables are switched and permantly live.
Please help surely this is an easy one to sort.
Cheers.

the small wire is the switched live, that obviously goes to the small terminal, the big terms, use 1 or 2 go to the battery or starter live term if its
nearer, use the proper cable from the doner car for that
who cares who wins

On my alternator the 2 reds go to the battery + terminal and the blue to the ignition light. I used the Sierra instruments and made my own loom. The
daihatsu (denso) is different to the ford. The 2 reds are easier to route than one thick cable.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

thanks yes after having a word with my dad he has also confirmed this .
With buying the loom from luego i was presuming there would be a wire already in place to go to and from alternator and battery .
Cheers anyway
