It's supposed to be one of the safety lockouts.

The other two are "Footpeg" and "Neutral"

Either disconnect it or leave it in... does little to affect anything. You'll have it in neutral to start anyway wont you?

If you want to remove it do this:
Locate the clutch diode. This is distinguishable by the following wired leading into the connector:

Two Light Green Wires connected.
Light Green/Red trace.
Green/Red trace

The connector itself is dead ended with a small black block on the end.

Chop this connector out - and proceed as follows:

Join the two Light Green Wires to the Light Green/Red trace.
Connect the Green/Red trace to earth.

DONE

So what is its function?
I think its so that the neutral light does not light when you pull the clutch in as standard, though I may be wrong, if it is its unnessesarilly complicates the wiring when the logic could have been kept in the ecu?

looking at the wiring diagrams the later blades have the diode in the CDI.

so far ive "tricked" the stand switch and clutch switch into working and i just wanted to know if the diode could be left in the loom and not cause any problems

Pull it out or use it for anything else that you can switch to ground and light the yellow" S" light.
