water temp sender thread Zetec -95

Hi!

The sender on my newly bought water temp gauge does not fit in the thermostat house.
Does anyone know what size of thread i might be?
It is the small hole under the main outlet on the thermostat housing.

I was chatting to Phil the other day and i seem to remember he mentioned NPT and NPTF threads on the Zetec for some of the senders. Though im not sure if it was for the oil or water... Sorry i cant help any more than that.

Yes, but we have a 92 engine out of a festa, if that makes any differnce, but both the oil and water temps are npt nptf threads (cant remeber which one, but i think they are the same), anyway we took botht he old and new senders to Pirtek and they ordered us a bush to converte to the different sizes

Phil

p.s. i have just noticed your in sweedon so that might not be anyhelp, i will messure the size later 2day

Thanks for the replys

The shop where i bought the gauge also sells "converters" but there are a few and I rather don't want to buy them all.

Here are the treads on the converters they can provide

M14 x 1,5
M16 x 1,5
3/4" x 16 UNF-3A
M18 x 1,5
5/8" x 18UNF

I fitted a phase 1 housing to my engine and the lower hole was 1/8 NPTF...fitted my ETB sender perfectly.
