Lolocost headlights?

Anybody used the Lolocost chrome headlights?

headlamp part 1

headlamp part 2

They seem good value for money, but that may be because they not that good

Those look remarkably similar to the ones I bought from here:

Classic Car Accessories
(half-way down the page)

They're decently constructed, work well and are legal for the SVA. No real minus points, except that the chrome may eventually rust through quicker than on the more expensive models (they're not heavily plated).

I'm happy with them, and delivery was quick as well.

rgds,

David

The only problem I see with them is that they are sealed beam. My experiance of which is that there output not as good as seperate reflector/halogen bulbs, and you have to change the whole reflector if thew bulb goes.

The CCA ones use conventional H4 bulbs, and come with the parking light bits - in other words, they're complete and ready to use.

I used them and made up some holders for the pilot lights.

Not had any problems with them nearly 3 years on.

Only observation is that it would be good to have more candle power.

Cheers,

Colin

David,

Do you mean that the bulbs in the CCA lights are replaceable without replacing the whole unit?

Nick

Yep - standard off-the-shelf H4 Halogen bulbs. The sidelights are commonly-available 12v bayonet types. I wouldn't fit anything that requires the sealed-beam units - they're expensive to replace and their light output isn't that great.

At least with the CCA ones, if you think you're short of candle-power you could fit those extra-bright H4 bulbs. I've got the 7" lamps, and I've found the light output to be more than sufficient, even when driving down the unlit and twisty Suffolk back-roads.

To summarise: the CCA lamps are good value, and ready to use. They are built to a price (probably in India or Taiwan) but they work and look pretty. Maybe in 2 or 3 years they won't be so pretty, but I'll deal with that when it happens.

cheers,
David

I quite liked the "Cat's eye headlamp mask", A bit of vintage bling. Might just look into these a bit later, would suit my 30's style.

So do the CCA ones come complete with the sidelight bulb holder as well? or do you have to buy it seperately? As it says comes with main and sidelight holders, but then goes on to say only main wiring loom. Even if they dont the side light holders and bulbs are only £3.50 a pair....

Cheers,
David

I have a pair of cca headlamps, They are totally complete, delivery was amazingly quick, quality good for the price. All you need to do is connect them up.

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
