Its not Ultima - they are based in Hinkley.
Its not Nobel - i think they are based outside of Hinkley

(Hinkley is in between Coventry and Leicester).

Marcos ? I did wonder about prodrive till i got to the bit about employees and products.

Think I'll retract my interest then, that looks awful. Nobles are assembled in Barwell, very near Hinckley.

Im not convinced its them, that is never going to be considered a competitor to the Mclaren F1. I think its Ultima, is it just an assembly plant in Hinckley ? I think its a fairly small unit they have.

This business was founded in 1999/2000

Ultima, Noble and Marcos have been running longer than that haven't they?

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

£11m for a company with no premises, no employees and all of the moulds and jigs at sub-contractors.

That's one hell of a lot of goodwill and intelectual property?

Does seem a shade over-priced. Never heard of it before. Has it really been competing in international GT events?

I was thinking the price was pretty stupidly high.

Almost 100% certain its not Ultima.

The one in Standish is JBA. Owned by one of the three Ainscough brothers (of Ainscough Crane hire fame). I'm originally from the village and my parents still live there.

(the industrial estate also used to be owned by one of the brothers and may still be so along with Wainhomes & Ainscough building supplies - yep three successful brothers).

I think its the stealth aswell, looking at the motorsport section of the website, loads of facts match up.

Car seems overpriced though
£98k + VAT for the road car with High Output V8 and 6 speed box, doesn't Ultimas similar spec sell for about £67k

Mosler
Saleen
Lister

I think Lister are too old but Mosler are a possibility.

Farboud have been bought by Chris Marsh who used to own Marcos so it is unlikely to be them - unless it is an old advert.

I can tell you who that is, no probs, can't believe nobody else has thought of it - Ascari!!!

They are in Oxon, never knew about the leics bit, but Ultima have been around a lot longer than the company mentioned!!!

Ascari have competed in international GT's, and have sold bugger all road cars!

Ultima will certainly not be for sale in the forseeable future as far as I know!!!

Noble might be soon, watch this space!!! Probably wrong, but the chap that owns Noble now (chairman of Burtons, Morrison's etc) is looking to offset some of the losses incurred with the Safeway takeover.

The Ascari isnt available as a road car is it ? weve done a good chunk of the analysis work on the chassis. As far as Im aware you get one if you join some fantastically expensive new gentlemans motor race circuit/country club in Spain or Portugal. As I understand it the development costs have been so high that it would need to be sold at a price well above its very best potential competitors.

Yes, the ascari is available as a road car, and the company went through a "reformation" more recently than 1995 after it's original financier pulled out, so maybe that explains the dates??

Dunno, just seemed obvious choice due to location and price. Anybody think of who it might be. No way Stealth are worth 11 mil and they aint in those locations. Deffo not Ultima, not Noble..............................

Lola? (no road cars though)

if it cost that much to develop then why isn't it fast.........in blunt terms.

The Ultima was developed (in relative terms) on a shoestring and it is quicker than pretty much anything else on the market!
