Swirl Pot and Twin Fuel Pumps
Hi
Here is a question for anyone out there running a Fuel Injected car using the Low Pressure Pump => Swirl Pot => High Pressure pump
arrangement.
How do you feed the two fuel pumps with power, do you feed the LP pump straight from the ignition and the HP pump from the ECU, or do you just power
both of them from the ECU. My worry is the ECU switches off the pump(s) when they are not needed, so the LP pump won't get a chance to fill the
swirl pot.
I think I've answered my own question, but anyone else opinions greatly welcomed.
TIA
Scott

My LP pump runs permanently off a switched live from the ignition and the HP pump is controlled from the ECU
shimming solid lifters is a job for a friend...

Sounds like a good excuse for some extra switches and a full blown start up sequence to me
You could just have a push button to bypass the fuel pump relay and manually prime the low pressure pump.
