help with 1 gauge
Gents (and ladies),
Had a fantastic day wiring the gauges up but....when i switch on the ignition the oil pressure gauge goes straight to 12 bar (max) is this correct.

No!
Should read zero until engine is started, then give you a reading.
Shouldn't get anywhere need 12 bar - 174lb sq".
Either wrong sender or wired incorrectly!
Can only suggest you recheck wiring then speak to manufacturer.

Is it a sender with 2 terminals like this?
If so, have you wired the guage to the right terminal? One is the for the warning light and will connect directly to earth when the engine is not
running.
On ETB senders, you want to be connecting the gauge to the "G" terminal. The "WK" terminal goes to the low pressure warning
light.

premier wiring loom all connected correctly and the rest are ok.
Sender is on a crossflow but not sure if v.d.o.
Does this make a difference.

Have you got the wrong sender, i.e. have you wired into a low pressure warning switch (which will be grounded when engine off) instead of a variable
resistance sender unit?

Gauge shows max reading all the time i.e with or without sensor connected.
Just a stupid thought How would i know if the sensor i am connecting to is a oil temp sensor or oil pressure???

somehow the gauge is picking up a route too earth, take the gauge out of your dash (if easy too do) and try it with nothing else connected too it
other than the power supply and start from there.
