Where from

Hi.
Where is the best place to get one of these from with pins fitted? It's to fit the Mega squirt ECU.

this one came with the Ecu but has no pins. I'm told you can get them with the pins fitted and you solder the wires on.
or would I be better to get the crimp on pins? Rescued attachment dcp_4135.jpg

If its a D type connector then Maplins etc would be a good bet. Soldering them is a bit fiddly and you need to watch the length of the wires to get them in the shroud. Also make sure you dont leave any bare wire as when you put on the shroud you will get shorts.

a 24pin D type is known as a V24 connector

Ian

If its a straight wire d type have you thought about getting a ribbon cable and an IDC connector.

Do you know the pin outs? It may not be the same both ends. Transmit at end A is Receive at end B.

I used a few of these in the old Amiga days and if I can solder them anyone can. Don't use too big a tip or too high a wattage. I have a 12v 25w which is ideal and useful for the wife's dollhouse wiring as well.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
