vtec mid

Anybody have any mid engine builds using a Honda vtec engine??. The closest I found was Steve Grabers MR2.I just seen a closeup of the Ariel Atom and that thing is cool!!

Also, just for discussion, what differences would someone notice between a mid engine honda vtec and a mid egine Yamaha R1 if both were weighing approx. 1200 lbs. In other words what would happen to the Atom if it raced, lets say, a Hayabusa powered mid.? (obviously a properly set up Busa mid!)

Because you said both are the same weight, it all comes down to hp and aero-drag. And before anyone tells you othewise, torque has nothing to do with it, the hp equation already takes it into account. Given the above, the Honda will win because it has more hp, simple as that. Oh, and you didn't say road-racing or drag-racing, but like I said, you set the weights equal so it wouldn't matter.

OTOH if you put a 'busa in an Atom (already been done BTW) it isn't going to weigh 1200lbs... probably more like 750lbs. The 'busa would win since it has nearly the same hp and will be around 250lbs lighter (then the Honda drivetrain.)
