Rev counter with megajolt

hi chaps. iv got a sierra cluster temporarilly,(maybe permanent). iv got everything working except thd rev counter.

i connected it up to pin 11 on edis but nowt. Should it work?

have you tried connecting it to the tacho out from the megajolt?

also some oe tachos need a couple of diodes in circuit to make them work.(diagrams on Megajolt site)

The only way mine would work was with 2 diodes and a resistor ,wired into each side of the coil loom /plug, I think Paulf had some component values.

Ill have look at this resister thingy. Hopefully i can get it to work. My plan is to hack the cluster about and make into summit nicer.

Hi Dan
The diagram is on the CD I supplied with the unit, it uses 2 in4004 diodes and a 15v zener diode to give a signal from the coil pack leads.
I used it to drive an escort tacho and it worked fine, it would be worth trying the megajolt tacho output first as that may work with the ford tacho.

Cheers lads. I tried the tacho output off the MJ and it still didnt work.

Fitted the 3 diodes and it works a treat now. Left me skint though!!! 24p!!!!!!!!
