More Batteries
Can anyone tell me if Maintainence Free Batteries give off any fumes, vapour or gasses. I want a battery to fit in the passenger footwell but
don't want any nasties in the car.

Gel batteries like the Odessey are totally sealed and you can mount them any side up - not sure if 'maintenance free' ones are similar.

Mainly maintenance free is a load of coblers, they are standard lead acid batteries, with a special designed vented top, that is
"supposed" to stop the loss of the acid. They do vent gas when on charge, and will leak acid if tipped on there side. So not a nice thing
to have draped around your feet. atb Chippy
